Those minerals which occur in good crystals are best characterized by their crystal symmetry and forms. The crystal symmetry is stated where known, and the forms of crystals that have been described from Californian localities are mentioned.'' Laid in at the rear is a folded map from 1940: Index Map of the Economic Minerals in California. A catalog of publications by the Division of Mines is pasted to the rear paste-down endpaper.
