This beautiful book is is a memorial gathering of words and images in honor of Minor White by his students, colleagues and friends. It attempts to capture a portrait of the guiding spirit of American creative photography. Ansel Adams wrote, "His photographs will be like a golden thread between ages of darkness and light." Other contributors include: Robert Adams, Paul Caponigro, Walter Chappell, Carl Chiarenza, Arthur Freed, Arnold Gassan, William Giles, William LaRue, Barbara Morgan, Edward Ranney, Frederick Sommer, John Yang, Brett Weston, and others. 78 pages. 4to. Also published as issue 95 (Summer 1984) of the journal Aperture, which was founded by Minor White.

Millerton NY: An Aperature Book, 1984. Hardcover. 78p., first edition hardcover in 11.5x10 inch openweave grey cloth boards titled silverfoil and enclosed in the dust jacket. Casebinding's bottom edge is sunned at the heel, top edge is sunned its whole length and has spotty foxing to top of textblock. The dj is edgeworn with crimping at extremities and a quarter-inch chip at the heel. Contents (textblock with all plates and ancillary materials) except for a slight toning of foredge, is very good to fine. All in all, a good (or better) copy.
