London: Amalgamated Press/Fleetway House, 1938. VG. First edition. No d/w. Colour frontispiece illustration with 192pp. Profusely illustrated with photographs and line-drawings. Contains a short story by W E Johns 'Biggles Takes The Bait' illustrated with three line-drawings. The story was only gathered and published in 1999. Johns also contributed an article; 'Up & Up & Up'. Bound in dark-blue cloth spine with pictorial paper covers with illustration of an aircraft flying over a green train. NO inscriptions. Rear inner hinge starting (but book secure); some rubbing to tail of spine; some chipping to paper edges; age tanning to edges of pages; corners have losses; else a very good copy of an UNCOMMON first edition.
