About This Item
Ithaca, USA: Cornell Univ Southeast Asia, 2002. Paperback. Very Good. The author provides a detailed study of a conflict between urban development and the needs of long term residents who are required to move and see their homes demolished to allow such development. This case involved the Portuguese Eurasian residents of Pulau Tikus, part of the capital city of the island. Interestingly the landowner and major advocate for demolition was the Roman Catholic Church, to which most of the Eurasian community belonged. 225 pages. For further details, please see the scanned contents page. Weight 0.7kg. Post free within Malaysia About an inch at the top of the spine has come loose and there is some other minor shelf wear. The binding is tight, the text is clear and there is no tanning throughout.
