The other titles were The Young Engineer, The Young Naturalist and The Young Botanist. 8vo size blue clothbound hardcover with bright gilt titles and decorations on spine and cover; 280 toned pages followed by 31 page publisher's catalogue. 73 illustrations. Contents include: Carpenters and Carpentry The Art of Sawing Planes and Planing Planing: Showing How the Young Carpenter Can Make Some Useful Articles Boring and Splitting Tools Some Experiments in Jointing Fastenings Used in Woodwork On Wood Some Common Objects and How to Make Them How to Make a Folding Table and a Chair Painting, Staining, and Varnishing The Gentle Art of French-Polishing Worn corners, bumped head and heel of spine; gilt titles and decorations are rubbed in some areas. Pages are rough cut on the bottom and the catalogue section is slightly wider than the book pages. Lightly tanned band on fep and a rubbed area that may be an erasure.
