Some page edges uncut, couple of pages lightly creased. Professionally rebound in dark green half morocco with matching cloth sides. Sir Richard Owen was a controversial English biologist, anatomist, and paleontologist, who rejected Darwin's theory of evolution. He wrote an important general account of the Mesozoic land-reptiles. His History of British Fossil Mammals and Birds, was followed by many later memoirs, notably this his Monograph of the Fossil Mammalia of the Mesozoic Formations.
