NY: W. W. Norton. Very Good- with no dust jacket. 1932. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. B000858R70 . 1932 1st. Moderate outer wear, spine darkened. John A. Blum's copy dated 1/14/36 ffep. Handwritten on the rear endpapers, Blum (a Macy's executive) recounts a dinner with the author on 20 Feb, 1936. In part it reads: "After dinner last night, Mr Allison & I were talking about M. Thiers and he told me the real story of Thier's death...this ending...is of such a nature that its inclusion in a biography of this nature would ruin the whole thing, according to JMSA." Allison's findings are related here by Blum, dated 21 February 1936. ; 8vo; 294 pages .
