Bindings very good, some minor starting of a few hinges. 1889 volume has 1888 stamped on lower spine. ----- Text clean, some light toning and an occasional finger spot. Some ownership marks in preliminaries. All volumes illustrated with over 300 engravings. ------ Light wear to spine tips and corners, minimal refurbishing. ---- Includes "The jubilee chronicle of the Newcastle exhibition, being a reprint of the Newcastle daily chronicle's report of the proceedings at the opening of the exhibition." The final, 16-page, section to vol.5, is the Epilogue, describing the Contributor's Gathering at the offices of the Chronicle with photographs ina collage of all. Also a index of all five volumes. .
