The Moors Were Changeless.

by Clewlow, N.:

Condition: See description

England: The Author, c.1985 First edition. Self-published by the author, with no date or place given, but from contents probably 1980s. Paperback: red card wrappers, stapled, with black title to front around line drawing showing a milltown in Lancashire and a portrait of a young woman. 43pp. With 2 line drawings at end. The text is a xeroxed typescript, with various hand-made corrections in the original. The author was raised in a mining area of the Midlands (his father was a miner) but moved when young in 1915 to a town (Fence near Pendle) in Lancashire where most peoole worked in the cotton mills. This is the well-told account of his life, his marriage and family, including service in the Royal Naval Fire Service in WW2. The war years are especially evocative. Very Good copy. Some light colour fade near spine.
