The work is a dialogue between a Christian Jew, Theophanus, and a Christian deist, Philalethes. Leather covers with impressed decoration and with leather banded spine is well rubbed with worn spine-ends and corners, splits on both joints with front cover held by only one cord, front cover has area of loss.
