London: George Routledge & Sons, 1881. Second issue of first edition. Engraved and printed by Edmund Evans. No date specified - previous owner's inscription reads 1881. Quarter pink spine, beige paper overlay decorated in green/brown trellis design on front and back, olive green endpapers, 48 numbered pages. Lightly bumped on ends of spine and on front corners, paper overlay foxed and subtle wrinkle at front top corner, corners rubbed and bowed. Previous owner's inscription in ink on ffep, cracked at Contents page but binding firm. Pages darkened and well thumbed and smudged, ghost of colour illustration transfer from opposite pages throughout. Subtle crease on bottom corner of page 19, closed tear (1/8 inch) on fore edge page 35. Overall, good plus. Pink DJ with brown lettering and illustration on front, original cost 'Three Shillings and Sixpence'. Creased, torn, missing pieces at ends of spine. Overall, poor.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good Plus/Poor. Illus. by Greenaway, Kate. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
