Collins, London, 1985,. see description. first edition, large (240x165mm with a 60mm-wide spine) and heavy, 786pp, 80 photographs on art paper including - an official biographer gets all the best photographs - early family and private group photographs, on the endpapers Earl Mountbatten of Burma's enormous family tree starting with Victoria and Albert, traces of sticker on front free endpaper, publisher's boards, title gilt on spine, the weight of the book has creased the spine a little leaving the book a bit wobby but otherwise vg, the price-clipped dw illustrated by a colour portrait has a small nick at the back bottom spine corner and a tear on the fold of the flap-back.
