Many original plates, most photogravures and india paper laid on card, some in handsome color, but VERY INCOMPLETE but does retain the missing plate's cover sheets. In the original Gold silk portfolios, lettered on upper covers (some mostly light wear and soiling). Provenance: Hiram Edmund Deats, Flemington, NJ (designation on limitation leaf). Ex-library Western Reserve Historical Society. This work was specially commissioned by William Henry Vanderbilt and provides an extensive and lavish document of his collection. Folio, 10 parts, plates. The portfolios are bound in Gold silk , some chipping of the lower spine on some of the volumes . Good + condition. Sold as a binding and collection of plates. A Voluminous work that will require a lot of postage.
