Very Good. 4.5" x 7.5" ...and much improv'd; as will appear by the Preface and Table of Contents: by John Kersey, late Teacher of the Mathematicks, and now exactly corrected by John Kersey, the last author's son. The fourteenth edition. With a new supplement; Of Easie Contractions in the necessary Parts of Arithmetick; Useful Tables of Interest, and Flemish Exchanges; as also Practical Mensuration. By George Shelley, Writing-Master of Christ's-Hospital. Divisional title to p. 197: "An Appendix Containing Choice Knowledge in Arithmetick, both Practical and Theoretical; the Contents of which are express'd in the following Page, Composed by John Kersey, Teacher of the Mathematicks, and accurately Corrected by J. Kersey, the Author's Son." [8], 448 p.p. [A-Mmm4]. Bound as a 4to. Contemporary brown calf boards with blind panel detailing and light brown leather spine label with black lettering, raised spine bands. Rubbing, scratches and scuffs to boards, cracking to calf on spine, rubbing to joints and edges, staining to edges of text block, small chip to front joint at heel. Wear to calf with loss to rear board. Bumping and wear to corners. Ink annotations to pastedowns and FFEP, one pencil annotation to margin but otherwise text is unmarked. Chip to bottom corner of p.p. 29 & 276 at tail, no loss of text. Angel woodcut tailpiece to p. 182, vignette to divisional title and headpiece to p. 203. Staining and smudging to quite a few pages, but text remains legible. Perforations from bookworms to p.p. 311-326 to head and p.p. 357-430 to foot at hinge. ESTC #T86928.
