Gilt-stamped blue cloth, glassine dust jacket; binding square and tight, jacket chipped and torn. Muir Dawson's copy without distinguishing mark. SFK519-1008. Very Good. Includes "Notes on WAD as Writer" by Watson Gordon and "The Background of This Book," by Paul Bennett. Displays the virtues of W. A. Book design by Dwiggins, set in his Linotype Electra. Edges rubbed, light specks to front cover. Edges and endpapers lightly age toned. Jacket edges a tad rubbed, top edge with short closed tears. The renowned type- and book-designer's stage melodrama on the rebellion of humans against tyrannous thinking machines. Published in reduced format under wartime paper restrictions, as explained on the jacket by Knopf. Dust jacket preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.
