New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1935 Ex-Library. Good. Hardcover. Stated First Edition. 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 Inches. Grey cloth on boards with dark blue lettering and design. Top edges dark blue. Previous owner's name. Waterstaining to a few pages (not affecting text). Date due stamps on rear free endpaper. Spine is hand-soiled and has a slight crease down the middle. This was the author's first book, and was made into a movie in 1936. The protagonist is Kent Murdock, a newspaper photographer, who is drawn into the case by a damsel in distress. Scarce. 269 pp..
