Paris, 1820. Very good overall. Striking stipple engraving of white Muscat grapes by one of the greatesty botanical illustrators of the Napoleonic era, P J F Turpin. Turpin worked closely with Pierre Antoine Poiteau (1766 - 1854) a French botanist, and botanical artist; together they published a new edition of the Traite des arbres fruitiers (Treatise of the fruit trees) by Henri Louis Duhamel du Monceau, and Traite des Arbres et des Arbustes. 9 1/2 x 12 1/2", on paper 14 x18" with full margins. Few light brown spots, in margins; few short closed tears at margins.
