Once an ornate train station, the site was converted into an art museum in 1986. Situated on the left bank of the Seine, the museum is noted for its collection of fine impressionist paintings by the likes of Monet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne and many others. Also exhibited are sculptures, photographs and orate furniture. The art is displayed on numerous full-color plates with accompanying text by Alain Nave, rendered into English by Ellie Rea. --- In blue linen-finish paper-covered boards with gilt-stamped cover and spine titling.
