Wood-engraved frontispiece and numerous text illustrations. Trivial external rubbing and soil; ownership signature ("John Lowell") to front endpaper, else a tight, straight and handsome copy, Near Fine in the attractive publisher's binding. Uniform with the "Harper's Young People's Series," which included at least four of Du Chaillu's works.
