Uncomfortable with the malevolent actions of his home nation, he daringly switched sides and exposed all to Canadian authorities. "He deliberately risked his life to espouse what we [Canadians] so casually accept as our birthright. By this very act he helped to safeguard our great heritage of freedom." - Introduction. Per bottom of backstrip, this copy was a special 'Red Reel' edition, apparently printed for employee H.H. Hales of the Canada Wire and Cable Company, as this name is stamped in gilt upon red cloth-covered front board. Small address label upon front free endpaper, otherwise unmarked with average wear. Binding intact. Includes replica dust jacket. A sound copy of this historic Cold War account.
