A collection of letters from William Clark Corson to Jenny Hill Caldwell (who marry after the war on December 18, 1866) and one final letter from Jenny to William (William destroyed her letters so that fellow soldiers could not read them). When the war broke our, Jenny was seventeen and William twenty four and their home were only three miles apart near Cumberland Court House in Virginia. For most of the letters the tone is familiar-conversational, a young man talking to his best girl. Original spelling and punctuation are preserved. William died in 1895 and Jenny in 1899.
