Thornton Butterworth, 1930 1st edition, 4th impression. Hardback, 9 x 5.5 ins. Maroon cloth with gilt lettering to spine and front. Blind embossed line detail and monogram to corners. In very good condition. Cloth faded on spine, and around board edges, small split to cloth on bottom corner of spine, small split to cloth on front spine edge. Nicks to cloth at top spine end. Bookplate to front endpaper “United Service Club.” Crease to front free endpaper. Blank prelim darkened. Some darkneing/tanning to inside pages, with some foxing around page edges and margins. Else inside pages clean and tight. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 392pp; 28 illustrations, including b&w photo plates, folding maps and plans.

Notable tanning to spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Book has forward lean.
