Chicago, IL: Spencer Press. Good. 1959. Hardcover. 320 pp. Color photograph endpages. All extremities worn, corners bumped. Binding tight. Contents clean. Illustrated with photographs and with period art accents. A very nice collection of easy to follow, tested recipes (important if you are actually going to make the recipes!) Sections are introduced with instruction and tips. Of interest are the Luncheon and Supper Dishes section and the many types of molded dishes including various aspics, loafs and molded salads. A few casserole's were found such as Creamed Finnan Haddie and Cracker Tips en Casserole but the heaviest representation 100 +/- pages is dedicated to the dessert sections! Laid in are various inserts from the period (1958), including: Philadelphia cream cheese "Package of Family Treats" 4 pp.; Betty Crocker Date and nut cake; Better Homes and Garden's "How good a host or hosteess are you?" 10 pp.; Hand written recipe card; and Parade Magazine clippings. ; 8vo .
