About This Item

New York: Times Books, 1981. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo. Translation by Linda Butler Koseoglu. Quarter black cloth, orange paper boards. xiv, 235 pp. Sunning to top and tail edges of boards. Light foxing to edges of text block. Dust jacket is price clipped, chipped to spine foot, a few small spots of wear, lightly bumped to extremities. At the heart of the Middle East crisis, the crisis that could trigger the Third World War, is the issue of an independent state for the Palestinians. Abu Iyad, for years El Fatah's number two leader under Yasir Arafat, provides an impassioned and enlightening account of the issues involved. He recounts his own life story, a life devoted to the cause of nationhood for the Palestinians. As a founder of El Fatah and former chief of PLO Intelligence, he writes with unmatched authority and sophistication.
