London: Hodder & Stoughton , 1934. 1st Edition . Very Good Plus. 6.25 x 8.25 inches (16 x 21 cm). Pale blue cloth binding with horse illustration in panel to front board, black lettering to spine. Very clean covers, small mark to corner of rear board, very slight wear to ends of spine. Light foxing to endpapers and half title page, very clean text throughout. Good solid binding with no loose pages. Previous owner's name and small address label to verso of font free endpaper. The inspiration for Michael Morpurgo's 1982 children's novel War Horse, and the subsequent Steven Spielberg film of the same title. An excellent example of the first printing. Overall condition is Very Good Plus. Size: 6.25 x 8.25 inches (16 x 21 cm). Hardback. Printed pages: 160
