In very conservative Melbourne of the 1940s a young poet, Christopher Chubb, creates a mythical poet of raw power and sexual frankness – Bob McCorkle, and a body of work – and submits said poetry to the most avant-garde of literary magazines. The magazine publishes this poetry and is then prosecuted for publishing obscenity. At the trial, a man, who bears an uncanny resemblance to the mythical Bob McCorkle leaps to his feet and "...
