Cream cloth, couple of tiny bumps and previous owner's name, brown titles in torn DJ with light stain, promotional laid-in states "This book...is not a numbered publication, but it is being sent out in lieu of a numbered volume for 1942, in this year the Texas Folkore Society is issuing the first of its Range Life Series."

Clean, tight book but for ink owner's name free endpaper and bookplate pastedown (covered by flap) and one or two lines of ink notes rear blank. The pictorial jacket is fair only with a large piece missing from the front panel and lower spine. Texas Folklore Soc Austin 1942 1st edition hardcover Cloth 8vo. 159 pp. Intro and arranged by J. Frank Dobie. B.E. Lewis illustrations. First in the Range Life Series with the notification from Dobie and the society so stating tipped into rear endpaper. Scarce in jacket. Rampaging Herd 2565.
