SIGNED/INSCRIBED by author Kathleen Norris to journalist/playwright Blanche Upright in ink on the front free endpaper, "For Blanche--Thinkin' of them happy days when we was girls--- Frisco Kate". 5 1/4" x 7 3/4". Cloth-backed red boards. Front cover title label; no spine titling. Kathleen Norris was a prolific San Francisco novelist, sometimes referred to as the "best loved woman author" of her time. This is Ms. Norris' memoir of growing up in early San Francisco, where she and Blanche Upright were both born in 1880. Included is her memory of the 1906 earthquake and fire.
