About This Item

(Cape Town: Howard Timmins, 1972). 8vo; original blue boards; pictorial dustwrapper; decorative endpapers; pp. 138; plates. Dustwrapper very slightly rubbed, and a bit sunned on spine panel; top edge foxed, and occasional fox spot elsewhere. Very good condition. "Everything written in this book is as I saw it and is factual as far as I know. The book was written in tribute to Table Bay Harbour where I spent many happy hours covering the waterfront as a reporter. The Alfred dock was one hundred years only in 1969, the Victoria dock will be one hundred years in 1979 and the Duncan dock is now thirty years old. The book is comprised of happenings connected with shipping over six years and also incorporates my impressions and my thoughts during that time." .
