MY WAY OF LIFE (2 copies) each with a TNS laid-in by Crawford, Joan - 1971

NY: Simon & Schuster, 1971. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Both copies first edition, second printings. Both inscribed by Crawford on the title page. Laid-in are 2, 1-page TNSs both on Crawford's letterhead in envelopes with her return address (150 East 69th Street, New York Ny 10021), both dated October, 8, 1971, in her retired phase living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. One note extends best marriage wishes to a woman friend who is newly wed. The other note is to a couple ("Darlings") who are mutual friends of the newlywed, asking them to pass along the note (and book) "Would you be good enough to mail the enclosed letter. since there is no other way I have of letting her know my joy for her". Crawford concludes "My book tour will take me in and out of New York for a while but I will check in every now and then if I may." It appears the wedding note and inscribed copy for the newlywed were never delivered by the mutual friend couple because both copies came off their bookshelf. Both copies near fine, appear unread. Red titles on spines on dustjackets partially sunned; black print fine. Sold as a pair.
