Binding is tight and square, pages and edges are clean. Decorated endpapers (small white polka dots on blue background) free from any names, writing or marks -- some browning to endpapers. A pedigreed show dog is lost at the great international Dog Show in Paris. His trusted guardians -- Toppy, an adventurous French schoolboy and Monsieur Popotte, an absent-minded stamp collector -- set out in pursuit. The breathless chase takes them from Paris to Vienna, on to Budapest and then Bombay. There the exceedingly funny adventures become the more exciting ones of detecting the stolen dog. Their troubles have only begun and it takes all their ingenuity to get Flip safely back to Paris by way of Hongkong and the Sahara.
