New York: Carlton & Phillips, 1854. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. This hard bound copy of these magazines (no wraps) is clean, basically tight and square with good corners. The front paste down has a small area of pencil notes on some of the articles; otherwise it is unmarked. It is rubbed at the edges. There is a split at the first page that has little affect. It has a three-quarter binding with brown leather on the corners and spine where there are gold titles and raised bands. The boards are covered in green, marbled paper. It is extensively illustrated with black & white engravings very import for articles such as "A Trip from St. Petersburgh to Constantinople" and "The Catacombs of Rome". It contains "Nauvoo and Deseret" by Hobart, "Plymouth, the Pilgrims and Puritans" by Carey, "School of Reform, Westborough, Mass." by Pierce amon other articles. It has 572 pages with occasional mild foxing.
