Johnson, Fry & Co, New York. ----- Illustrated by Alonzo Chappel. Numerous full leaf plates. Pages: 616, 662. 11 1/4" x 9”. Binding: Half reddish brown calf with textured dark red calf boards, gilt eagle design at center of front boards, gilt titles and design at spine, raised bands, marbled at leaf edges; tissue guards at plates. Light rubbing at extremities, volume 1-near spine end slight scuffing, volume 2-very small bump in front upper calf corner cap but not at the corner. Internally occasional plate and text leaf with slight to moderate foxing. Text leaves and plates are solid in binding.
