First edition; cover lightly rubbed/soiled/foxed/unevenly age-toned, front flap has single dot of soiling from black ink and tiny chip at top flap edge (<0.25 inch), front and rear flaps have very minor dampstaining at bottom corner, corners lightly rubbed/bumped, spine ends lightly rubbed/bumped with some minor tiny chips/tears (all <0.25 inch); edges foxed/lightly soiled; inside covers age-toned/lightly foxed, title page has some light pencil erasures, two pages of front matter have tiny chips at top edge (<~0.25 inch), page 27 has small chip/tear at top corner (<0.5x0.5 inch) and small tear at fore-edge (<0.5 inch), text block very faintly age toned throughout with very faint minor dampstain at bottom page corners (<2.5x2.5 inch patch); binding tight; cover, edges, and interior intact and clean except as noted.. First Edition.. paperback. Good.

Ottawa: Ru-Mi-Lou Books (Graphic Publishers). 1929. First Canadian Edition. Softcover. pp 94, [2]. stapled in pale yellow printed card covers. Printed in double columns, with photos. Ex library, with two rubber stamps and an ink notation on the front cover, VG otherwise, no other library marks. The author's PhD thesis for Cornell University, the text bears the Ithaca, May, 1929, imprint (this Canadian edition published 9 Dec., 1929). The cover indicates the work was "Published under the Auspices of the Province of Quebec Society for the Protection of Birds." "Harrison Flint Lewis (1893-1974) was born in Sag Harbor, Long Island, New York and was a graduate of Acadia University in 1917. He was Chief Migratory Bird Officer for Ontario and Quebec from 1920 to 1943 and Chief of the Canadian Wildlife Service from 1947 to 1952. Retiring in 1952, he moved to West Middle Sable in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia. A life-long ornithologist, he served on many local and regional naturalist organizations as well as being a prolific researcher and writer." - Acadia University web page.
