London: Thomas Kelly, 1862. Corrected and enlarged edition, Volume one only, but has all 56 hand-coloured plates inc. tiger's head vignette on half-title and the often missing "White Negroes". This copy ihas ben professionally rebound in green calf with brown spine. Matching green spine panels with gilt. Marbled endpapers. Lower third of frontis portrait of the Count of Buffon is missing. Text stops mid-sentence at pp680, so there are possibly two pages missing at the rear. But plates are present and mostly in good condition. Foxing throughout. Now a splendid looking copy with some stunning illustrations. Heavy copy might require extra postage. Ref:114804. New, Enlarged Edition. Full Leather. VG/N/a. 21x27.5cm.
