The original endpapers have been retained with repair at the joint. There is a decorative bookplate of Francis Hemming, the noted entomologist to the front pastedown, together with an ink signature dated 1842. The contents are in very good condition. The text has light toning to pages but is clean with occasional pencil annotation. There is slight rumpling to the edges of initial text pages. The plates are all tissue-guarded with some offsetting to the guards. They are in very good condition. Plates are numbered to 34, but there are 2 versions of plate 2. The book has a slight smokey odour.
