About This Item
Houghton Mifflin Co. Boston. 1959. Third Printing. Hardcover. The Green covers are in very good condition, with mild bumping at corners and top of spine. The spine is faded a bit but author and title clearly visible. A sketch of New York City skyline with a flock of birds on front cover. The dust jacket is colorful with a Bald Eagle on the front and a black/white photo of the author on the back, which is lightly soiled in spots. The spine is a bit sunned; the dust jacket is frayed with toning in spots around the interior edges. It is in a clear Mylar protective cover. The interior of the book is in very good plus condition. There is no writing or markings and the pages are bright. The binding is firm, this book may be unread. The front and rear endpapers are a map of the New York City area; the interior pages contain many drawings by Henry Bugbee Kane of different organisms such as fish, fungi, and plants.
