Edinburgh: W H Lizars, 1843 A good to very good copy of the 1st edition of the final volume in Jardine's Naturalist's Library in the original publisher's binding. This volume covers seagulls and ducks among others. With volume listing; black and white frontispiece portrait of Wilson; black and white vignette title page of seagulls; 2 further title pages; publisher's advert; contents listing; Memoir of Alexander Wilson; text with black and white illustrations; directions for the binder; and 31 hand coloured plates. A set of title pages for the entire series is also bound in. This was done in case subscribers wanted to rebind their sets using title pages with the same date - 1843. The binding is in very good condition with light sunning and a small mark to the spine and very light wear to boards. Corners and edges have light wear. The original green endpapers are present and are unmarked. The contents are clean with light toning to the text pages. The gather at p307 has slightly loose stitching. Plates are clean and bright; tissue guards have some offsetting and the occasional spot.
