About This Item
S.l.: s.n., 1895. Pamphlet. Very Good. [12] p.: illustrations in black and red; 19 cm. The front illustration has a stylized signature: E. Carrell or Yarrell? No publication information; not listed in WorldCat. The illustrations and text suggest that it was published in the 1890s. A "humorous" criticism of the activities of late 19th-century women's clubs. The final two verses: "Eight naughty little maids, Seldom doing right, For little girls weren't meant To scream and shout and fight. So we'll stand them in a row With their backs to us; They surely should be punished For making such a fuss." Extremely scarce. In Very Good Condition: front is slightly browned; scattered light soiling; solid.
