Blue cloth binding with gilt titles on front cover and spine. Top edge of front cover and first few pages chipped away or chewed, some edge wear, corners and spine ends bumped, some spotting of cover, former owner's name "A. F. Blasian" stamped in large letters on back cover, some spotting of end papers, interior pages lightly tanned, "No. 72" written in ink on back end paper, binding tight.

Boards and spine scuffed and edges worn, small tears in cloth on rear board, small tears to top and bottom spine edges, spine lettering faded, binding cracked at p. 471. This manual is a revision of the 1914 Naval Artificer's Hand-Book, and contains instructions for the care and preservation of the hull and fittings, and the operation of auxiliary machinery on U.S. Navy ships.
