Longmans, Green and Co, 1920. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Book Published between 1920 and 1931. All First editions, all in Dark blue cloth original bindings. Details and condition notes on each volume as follows: Vol I To the Battle of the Falklands December 1914 Text - Binding a little loose. Complete with all internal maps present. Vol 1 Maps. All 18 maps complete in solid map case. Vol II To the Dardanelles (text and maps). Tightly bound. Slightly foxed. Bookplate to front free end paper. 5 maps total in front and rear pockets as called for. All internal maps (most fold out) are present. Vol III (Text) Home Waters Spring 1915 to Jutland. Tightly bound, signature to front free end paper. All internal maps (some foldouts) are present. Volume III (Maps). Solid case. Maps 29 and 40 are missing. All others present. Vol IV (Text) Post Jutland to mid 1917. Spine strip lost. All internal maps and charts present. Vol V (Text) To the end of the War. Spine strip split at hinges, front taped. Separate map volumes for volumes IV and V are missing, An extremely heavy set. extra postage will be charged . Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 7 volumes of the 9-volume set. Item Type: Book. Vol. 2 published in 1921 & Vol.3 in 1923. 5 large folding maps contained in front and rear endpockets of Vol.2 Folding chart as frontispiee to Vol.3. 3 vols. 8vo (8 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches), pages: xi:470; xi:448; & xiv:470. Contemporary half dark blue calf, spines gilt extra in 4 compartments with two crimson lettering pieces, gilt Admiralty crest to upper covers and Admiralty prize label to endpapers. All edges marbled. Small nick to one lettering piece. A handsome binding in excellent condition. The binding by Thomas de la Rue & Co. London, with their ticket.

In leather fine bindings; Quarter bound black leather spines and corners, with raised banding and gilt decorations, gilt lettered red leather spine labels, gilt 'Admiralty' crests to blue cloth boards, blue marbled endpapers and page edges. In very good conditions. Presentation bindings. Some minor rubbing and handling marks to cloth on boards, spine labels faded on vols 1-3. Some minor rubbing to corners. NOTE: Plans 4 and 5 missing from Vol 2. Plans 1-3 missng in Vol 3 map book, Map 9 missing from Vol 4 mapbook. All other maps appear to be present and undamaged.
