Double page fold-out centerfold, black and white photo process print, 12 3/4 x 41 1/2 inches on sheet size 16 x 44 1/2 inches (folding as issued), key to illustration on verso; supplement in complete issue of June 19, 1897 Harper's Weekly. Supplement in very good condition with 1 inch separation at lower left fold (outside image area). Magazine: covers worn with some light soiling, long tear to lower left edge, covers separated at spine. This impressive panoramic view of United States military might depicts dozens of Navy ships, all identified in the key on the verso with detailed information about each ship. The magazine includes a 2 1/2 page accompanying article "The American Fleet" by J. D. Jerrold Kelley. The front cover illustration "with the Cuban Insurgents - A Hurried Exit from the Government Workshop at Pico Blanco" is by W.A. Rogers. .
