Rubbing to spine ends and corners, some light staining to boards. Spine slightly tilted. Ink ownership inscription and offsetting to FFEP. Small chip to foot of p. 28. Two small stains to p. 29. Dark smudges to head of p. 182 and outer margin of p. 183. Dust jacket is price cliped, worn at rear joint, several large chips at spine ends, corners, and foot of front cover. Long tears to front cover. Covered in protective mylar. The "invaders" are two people of Irish descent who were reared in Britain and who, until nearly thirty, were typical townspeople. The New Invasion tells part of the story of their settling in Ireland on a neglected farm in Wicklow and their adjustment to small down life and drama.

Some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild sunning, staining and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier sunning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Clipped dust jacket with moderate rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.
