Eggertsville, New York: The Darling Foundation of New York State Early American Silversmiths and Silver, 1964. 1964 Limited Edition, No. 454 of 500 hand-numbered copies. NEAR FINE. Alphabetical arrangement by name of silversmiths with locations and years in which they worked as well as photographic reproductions of makers marks when available and 41 illustrations of significant silver pieces from the Darling Collection. A clean, crisp, totally unmarked and tightly bound copy. Pages fresh and fine. Handsome hardcover of dark blue cloth features the oval medallion of the Arms of New York State embossed in silver on the front cover. Spine lettered in silver. Cover is near fine with a slight color fade along spine, very light rubbing to spine ends and corner tips. Binding firm, hinges tight, spine and boards square. Included is an 8-page brochure of additional makers marks laid into the back of the book - its stapled binding has left tiny rust marks on the rear endpaper. Brochure is now in a separate protector. Binding firm and tight. 6 x 9"; 228 pages. Numbered Limited Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo.
