No Place of Publication.: Command and General Staff School.. . Color wall map, sheet size 36 x 48 inches folding to 9 1/2 x 10 inches as issued. Light wear along the outside fold, but basically the map is in unused condition. An extremely detailed Strategic Map published in the year that the United States entered World War II showing the extended area from Hartford in the upper right to Cumberland, Washington DC and south to the entry of the Potomac River into the Chesapeake Bay. Title stamped (?) in blue at centre of lower edge: "Map A To Accompany Sec I, Subj 6202/2 Army Operations Map, Command and General Staff College (499) 2-1426 Reprint 3-0965. Issue with section I." Further information published in the Legend area identifies this as a "Works Projects Administration Project. Prepared under the direction of the Chief of Engineers, U.S. Army by Engineer Reproduction Plant, The Army War College Washington D.C. Compiled from: Sectional Aeronautical Chart of Department of Commerce; various State Highway Maps; Transportation and Forest Service Maps of Department of Agriculture, and Topographic Maps of Department of Interior and War Department." Red and blue lines and other printed markings in the area north of Baltimore suggest some kind of battalion actions. .
