"You cast the movie," begins the jacket blurb -- but alas, despite the author's (or at least the blurb writer's) strenuous-to-the-point-of-tedious suggestions ("Al Pacino? (or Dustin Hoffman?) as Michael Rangeloff, the hapless all-American con-man..." etc.), no movie has ever emerged from this "zany-sad-funny-mad saga of a lovably corrupt Candide's adventurous journey across America." (Or if it did, I missed it.) .
