London: Nicholson & Watson, 1947. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Publisher's ochre-coloured cloth with gilt lettering to the spine. Spine faded otherwise a VG+ copy in a near fine D/W priced 8/6 net to the inside flap (as called for). The D/W has a hint of rubbing at the head of the spine but is otherwise an outstanding example with a really clean back panel. Description:
London: Nicholson and Watson, 1947. First UK Edition, no US equivalent. Basis for the 1948 British film noir, "Good-Time Girl," starring Diana Dors. Extremely scarce in jacket. "Bonnie and Clyde" somewhat in refers, wherein a young female wastrel (Diana Dors, naturally) runs over a policeman and ultimately winds up being part of a crime wave with two G.I.s who are also on the run. Very Good or better in a bright, about Near Fine dust jacket. Backstrip faded, but titles quite clear, just a hint of foxing to page edges. Jacket exceptionally nice, with a touch of rubbing at the spine ends. A superior copy.
