London: Secker & Warburg 1950. 8vo. 312 pp,. The green issue. Pale green cloth binding with green dustjacket. Jacket is edge-worn with creasing and tear to the head of the spine, 4.5 cm. Some sunning to the spine and edges of the boards. Slight lean to the binding and internally clean and bright. Owner's name to the front endpaper. Not the sexiest copy I've ever seen, but still rather pleasing. . Very Good. Hardcover. 3rd Impression. 1950.

Originally published on June 8, 1949 by Secker and Warburg in the United Kingdom, the book follows the main character, Winston Smith, through his disillusionment with totalitarianism and a doomed struggle of resistance. George Orwell is a pen-name, Orwell's real name was Eric Blair. -

Courier services available. We are also able to offer same day delivery within London postcodes for some orders - ask for a quote. Valuable items will be sent via registered airmail or one of the courier services. Large orders can be sent via consolidation, which reduces the cost per book. In the unlikely event of an incorrect description, a full refund will be provided, but please e-mail/telephone first, and within seven days of receipt of the book. We are happy to comply to the EU's rules on distance selling. All books are published in London and 8vo unless stated, and remain my property until paid for in full. We are in each day processing internet and mail orders with daily collections. We use UPS for UK deliveries, USPS and FedEx / UPS for the USA. European deliveries are usually UPS and we use Royal Mail or brokers for all else.
