Nineteen Eighty-Four - Orwell's Agents' copies with their bookplates - both Maroon and Green dust wrapper

by Orwell, George

Condition: See description

London: Secker and Warburg, 1949. A pair of first editions of Orwell's 'Nineteen Eighty-Four'. Both carry the Christy Moore bookplate to the end pastedowns. Some spotting to the maroon variant books. Both book are very good+ in like wrappers. There is chipping to the wrappers, more so to the head of the green wrapper. The green wrapper is unclipped and has WIDER end flaps - indicative of a proof dust wrapper. There is a small amount of light restoration to the price on the end flap. The maroon variant is clipped and has the usual fading to the spine. Housed in a custom-made slipcase with divider and gilt titles. A rare pair of Orwell's masterpiece.
