Berkeley: Berkeley Political Poster Workshop, Circa 1970. 4973 written in pencil in top left corner, understood by the Workshop as the police stamp of approval number and intended to prevent poster from being torn down. In fine, excellent condition.. Silkscreen poster. 17 x 22 inches. A protest poster from the Berkeley Political Poster Workshop, created in response to the Kent State shootings. Features the famous image of Mary Ann Vecchio kneeling over the body of Jeffrey Miller, May 4, 1970. The Political Poster Workshop was a loose collective of student activists that formed out of screenprinting classes led by Malaquías Montoya, an important figure in the Chicano Art Movement and lecturer at Berkeley.
